Are you going to make 2019 the year you change? Or are you going to go on doing exactly what you have been doing all this time and then be surprised when you get exactly the same results…?
If you are not happy with how things are and you are ready to make changes then make them realistic and achievable – so don’t decide that you want to lose 2 stone in a month or that you want to be back to the size and shape you were 30 years ago, as you are likely to fail.
So what can you do differently in 2019?
What you can do is pledge to be healthier by upping your exercise (easily monitored using your phone or smart watch), having a meat free day each week, drinking more water, cutting back on screen time and working on quality sleep.
There are so many free apps available now for your phone that you don’t need to invest in expensive gym memberships or special diets and remember that walking is probably the easiest exercise – and it’s free!
Also, have review dates in your 2019 plan, whether that’s weekly or monthly; reward yourself as you reach each goal, perhaps with a spa treatment or a trip to the cinema or a date night.
Enlisting support such as teaming up with a running or gym buddy is a great way of staying the course and will also be a lot more fun. Remember, if you enjoy what you are doing there is far more possibility that you will actually keep going.
