Fear? Failure? How do you know that you will fail if you never attempt anything new or take any risks?
There are so many statements about success and failure that can be used to motivate and inspire you; just look on the internet, browse the bookstores or buy yourself a quote a day calendar…
Here are a few of my own personal favourites:
Tony Robbins has stated, “There is no such thing as failure. There are only results.”
Nikola Tesla said, ” I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Oprah Winfrey is often quoted for her views on success and failure; I like this comment from her, ” There is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction.”
So what are you avoiding or delaying for fear of failure?
Running? Get some basic kit, get an app on your phone and get out there ( or join a gym). If you are waiting for the perfect weather you will probably need to move to a different country!
Releasing weight? Take baby steps – if you can’t resist the temptations in the supermarket aisles then plan your meals and do an online shop; set yourself small achievable goals and celebrate success; team up with a friend or colleague for support.
If you have a cupboard full of sweet treats and can’t bear the thought of waste then check that the unopened packets are all within date, put it all in a bag or box and take it along to your local food bank.
Applying for a new job? Improve your skills both in the workplace and in interview, ask for a mentor at work, model yourself on a successful person.
Starting a relationship? Share interests and ideas; be fun, be friendly, just be yourself!
You will probably know the old saying , “If you always do what you have always done, you ‘ll get exactly the same results.”
So, what are you waiting for? Face your fear, embrace your fear and change your life!
