Spring cleaning for me started about a month ago, although I didn’t even realise that that was what I was doing.
I guess I started with blitzing an awful lot of stuff on my computer; old files, duplicate folders, umpteen copies of the same photos…
Once I had got rid of the clutter I actually stood a much better chance of finding what I needed. Plus, my computer speeded up as it wasn’t dealing with a lot of rubbish.
One rainy afternoon, about a week after that, I blitzed my drawers and wardrobe, getting rid of lots of clothes which were no longer fit for purpose ( including 6 pairs of the same size, colour and brand of jeans, all of which had faded and gone baggy n exactly the same place!).
I felt liberated! Now I know exactly what I have and what needs replacing; it’s easy to put things away and I have created order out of chaos.
Next came the catching up with recording and printing of important business paperwork and getting expenses etc up to date. My book keeper will be super impressed with me.
Since then I have reorganised my office, deep cleaned the house, bottomed the cupboards, fridge and freezer, cleaned all the windows inside and out and have a plan in place for the garden.
I have also spent a week leaving various facebook groups, unsubscribing from emails and reducing the time I spend on social media.
Why am I telling you about my manic spring clean?
Well, the point is that applying deep cleaning techniques to any aspect of your life is a fantastic way of getting rid of the things that are holding you back and making you feel negative.
This could be physical such as cleaning out cupboards, or emotional cleaning of limiting beliefs or perhaps worry about things which are beyond your control. You may even find that those negative people in your life are in need of a spring clean.
So, start with a simple plan to do one small thing each day and you will soon notice a difference in your quality of life. Don’t stress about the small stuff and remember to take some time for yourself.
